Edwards repeats as club champion

Fred Edwards Jr. won his third consecutive men’s club championship at TCC with scores of 67-73=140, finishing two shots ahead of Benji McCall at 68-74=142.

Third place went to Tommy Gardner with a score of 70-75=145. Fourth place went to 14-year-old Will Ballard at 70-78=148. Fred was also responsible for the wonderful course conditions as the club’s course superintendent. Conditions were flawless for this years event.

This marked the 69th club championship held at TCC. The event has been held every year since 1939 excluding the war years of 1943,1944 and 1945.

In the First Flight, Steve Walker took top honors with 77-81=158, finishing ahead of Craig Gillie with an 84-80=164.

In the senior men’s championship, Tyce Marshall edged out Gary Laughter by two strokes 154 (76-78) to 156 (79-77). In the seniors First Flight, Bill Kelly was first with scores of 89-83=172. Second went to Don Gardner with 94-93=187.
