TWGA Play Day results for August 11

The TWGA event for the day on August 11th at the Tryon Country Club was a two-player 9-hole scramble, followed by a surprise 90th birthday luncheon celebration for Barbara Manning.

The surprise party was chaired by Claire Conrad, who was ably assisted by June Current, Glenda Delott and Parky Flanagan. The clubhouse was beautifully decorated with centerpieces of huge sunflowers, and the guest of honor was presented with a mammoth birthday card and a delicious birthday cake which was enjoyed by all.  Jim Templeton, Bud Hoffman and Bruce Bartlett graciously volunteered their time to grill hamburgers for the occasion.

2nd)  Sheila Umlauf and Christine Mariotti (24)           
3rd)  Barbara Manning and Vicki Wood (28)
