Everything comes up roses for TWGA

The theme for the Member/Guest 18-Hole Event for the Tryon Women's Golf Association was "Everything Coming Up Roses."  The clubhouse was beautifully decorated with fresh roses everywhere and as their prizes, winning guests received rose bushes to plant as a "gift that keeps on giving".

Hostesses for the day were Dee Huneycutt (chair), Rom Elliott and Betty Burdue.  All participating TWGA members received a sleeve of golf balls.

The winning teams were:
 
Low Gross:  Peggy Henson and guest Emur Heavey
Low Net:      Jane Templeton and guest Barbara Dark
 
Prizes were given to individuals for:
Longest Drive on No. 1:  Vickie Wood; Guest, Barbara Salmon
Closest to the Pin on No. 9 - Jane Templeton; Guest, Helen Ellis
 
The players enjoyed wine and refreshments on the porch before being served a delicious luncheon catered by Ruth Ann Miller.
 
On June 23 the event for the day will be Match Play pairing by handicap.  Please be sure to sign up at the Pro Shop.  A reminder that President Jane Templeton has called a special meeting to be held immediately following  golf on June 23rd at approximately 1 p.m. Please plan to attend.
