TWGA gets into swing of match play

The Tryon Women's Golf Association's Play Day Event on Tuesday, June 9th, was a 9-hole Match Play Tournament with a partner of your own choosing.

Mary Martlock and Lib McKeller went 2 and 1 over Parky Flanagan and June Current.  Elaine Riley and Hoppy Long went 3 and 1 over Peggy Woodward and Liz Easley. Glenda Delott and Anne Connolly went 3 and 1 over Betty Burdue and Dee Huneycutt.
 
The 18-hole event was low net of a two-person team.  The winners were Marie Foster and Margaret Wheat with a net 65 and coming in as a close second was the team of Harlene Harm and Cynthis Terwilliger with a net 66.
